French Apple Pie
This is a traditional French Apple Pie recipe.
Equipment

Ingredients
Crust
- 3/4 cup flour
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp almond powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- vanilla extract
Apple Sauce
- 3 apples
- 2 tbsp sugar
- vanilla extract or cinnamon
Topping
- 6 apples
Instructions
Prepare the crust
- Combine the butter, powdered sugar, almond powder, vanilla extract and salt.
- Add the egg and mix.
- Add the flour and mix.
- Roll the crust and let it rest for one hour in the fridge.
Prepare the apple sauce
- Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
- Place the apples in a saucepan on medium heat for 20 minutes.
- Mix the apples.
- Increase to high heat and stir continuously for few minutes.
- Let it cool down entirely.
Prepare the pie
- Preheat the oven at 350ºF.
- Roll the crust and blind bake for 15 minutes.
- Spread the apple sauce on the crust.
- Place the sliced apples.
- Bake for 1h15.
